Boy and woman take pole position at nitro challenge

GEORGE TOWN: A 12-year-old boy and a 45-year-old woman at the Malaysian Northern Nitro Challenge showed that remote-controlled nitro buggies were not solely toys of the big boys.

Impressing the crowds with their prowess, they throttled the tiny 3.5cc nitro-powered engines on the buggies, zipping these around the 300m race track at speeds up to 100kph during the second round of the challenge.
