KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia aims to see its national debt level flip for the better by 2020, as the Government continues austerity measures to keep the deficit capped at 55% to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), said the Prime Minister.

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (pic), who is also Finance Minister, said in a written reply to Parliament Thursday, that Malaysia was still classified as a nation with manageable debt, and said measures were in place to control spending with 2020 being set as the year where the country may start seeing its credit improving.
