A FORM FIVE student attacked her schoolmate in the presence of her father in front of their school in Alor Setar, Guang Ming Daily reported.
According to a video clip circulated on social media on Monday, the student was seen scolding and slapping her schoolmate while her father was standing nearby at 2pm.
A school security guard tried to intervene but was stopped by the student’s father, it reported. However, the guard still managed to stop the fight.
Later, a woman who identified herself as the student’s mother told the daily that her daughter attacked the girl as the latter kept bullying her at the school.
Her daughter could no longer tolerate the bully so she fought back after “getting permission” from her father, the woman claimed.
The woman claimed that she previously had brought the matter up to the school authorities but the bully and her friends still kept picking on her daughter.
It was learned that the school had met the parents of both students to settle the matter.
> Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported that a woman from Fuzhou, China, lodged a police report over her missing RMB40,000 (RM27,000). The “thieves” turned out to be termites.
The woman, known only as Rao, had kept the money, which her children had given her over the years, in a wooden box in her attic.
Rao said she would open the box to check on the money once or twice a year, and the last time she took out the money was a year ago.
However, Rao could not find the notes in the box on Monday. Instead, she found a termite colony in it.
The police investigation showed that the notes had been eaten by the termites.
