SHAH ALAM: PAS should accept the fact that Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) is part of the Selangor state government, says Khalid Samad.
The Amanah communications director said that the party was here to stay and PAS needed to acknowledge it.
“(PAS should) accept that Amanah exists and it will continue to, and the party is part of the Selangor state administration,” he said during a press conference here Friday.
Khalid added that the Islamist party should also realise that Umno was their enemy and it was important for all non-Barisan component parties to come together and make defeating Barisan their ultimate goal.
Khalid said that he was thankful to the state government for allocating eight Selangor state council seats to Amanah, with the promise of two more coming from its Pakatan Harapan allies.
However, the Shah Alam MP also noted that the seats given to the party should have also come from PAS and not just PKR and DAP.
The Selangor government had on Wednesday approved eight state council seats for Amanah.
