KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a former Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) serviceman was found hanging from the Kota Darul Ehsan arch early Sunday.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Sharul Othman Mansor said a passer-by contacted the police at about 4.30am after seeing the body, which was hanging from a height of 30m.

“Firemen and police personnel arrived at the scene and lowered the body,” he said.

The body was sent to University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for a post-mortem.

ACP Sharul said there were no elements of foul play detected.

The mood was sombre at the UMMC mortuary as friends and family members of the deceased, identified as Asok Kumar Koyamboo, 53, gathered to pay their last respects.
