Cops nab two over assault of electrician in Kota Damansara

PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested two men in connection with the assault of an electrical technician at a flat in Section 6, Kota Damansara.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din (pic) said on Tuesday that the 35-year-old man had gone home after carrying out electrical repair work at a resident's flat unit at around 9.30pm on Sunday.

"He received a call from her at 11.30pm, asking him to restore electrical supply to five flat units which had been cut off.

"Upon reaching the flat, some residents accused him of tampering with the switch box," he explained.

ACP Mohd Zani said two men started attacking the technician with a stick and chains, causing injuries to his head and left arm.

The technician managed to run away and sought treatment at Hospital Sungai Buloh before lodging a police report.

"We arrested two men, aged 23 and 31, to facilitate investigations into the assault.

"They were residents of the flat," said ACP Mohd Zani.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means.
