English daily and three defendants being sued by Anwar for defamation


GEORGE TOWN: An English daily and three other defendants are applying to strike out a RM70mil defamation suit filed by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim over alleged defamatory remarks printed in New Straits Times.

Counsel Baljit Singh, who was representing the first defendant Datuk Ranjit Singh Dhillon, said the application would be submitted within a month, adding that a High Court senior registrar in chambers had also fixed Oct 23 to hear the application to strike out the suit.
