SMART tunnel closed following flash flood at MRR2

Traffic slowed to a crawl along Jalan Kuching after a heavy downpour early Friday morning.

PETALING JAYA: Flash floods have been reported at the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), causing a traffic standstill in the area Friday morning.

A spokesman from Kuala Lumpur City Hall's Integrated Transport Information System (DBKLItis) said flash floods were reported at Ulu Klang heading towards Ampang near Kampung Pasir.

"We have received reports on the flash flood from 7am from the public but we are not very sure when the flood started to happen," he said.

Meanwhile, PLUS said The Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART) Tunnel has been closed to help divert the excess flood water.
