Student activist Safwan Anang goes home after family posts bail


KUALA LUMPUR: Student activist Safwan Anang, who refused bail after he was charged with sedition on Wednesday, has been released after his family paid a RM5,000 surety on Friday.

Safwan chose to go to prison after he claimed trial to a charge under Section 4 (1) (b) of the Sedition Act 1948 for uttering seditious words at a May 13 rally at at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall.
