Tourist and cabbie go at each other over unreasonable fare

KUALA LUMPUR: A tourist and a taxi driver assaulted each other physically at a busy street when the latter refused to use the meter and quoted the foreigner an exorbitant rate for a short distance's travel.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at about 11.15am near Jalan Alor, off Jalan Bukit Bintang, as the tourist, in his 40s, was looking to hail a taxi outside a hotel.
