DAP: Dr Koh forced to move

PENANG: Gerakan acting president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon's hand was clearly forced when he announced his preference to move to a federal post and thus give up the Penang Chief Minister post, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng claimed.

In a press statement, Lim said Dr Koh's announcement came only after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said he would decide for him if Dr Koh was unable to make up his mind whether to contest a state or parliamentary seat.

Speaking to reporters in Johor Baru last night, Koh denied that he had been forced to make the decision to contest a parliamentary seat.
