DURING a trip to Mauritius, Prof Dr Cheng Haw Chien was so mesmerised by the sight of ostriches that he decided to encapsulate that particular moment through his art.

“I was visiting Mauritius during the 1990s when I saw ostriches roaming around trees blooming with lychee fruits.
