THE prestigious Malaysian Grand Prix Dinner is back this year to kickstart the Formula One weekend.

The black-tie event will be held at a specially constructed three-tiered grand marquee at Plaza Petronas KLCC on March 27.

The venue will also play host to the Twin Towers @live 2014 concert on March 28 and 29.

So far, K-Pop singer Rain and British performer Craig David are confirmed for the concert.

The by-invitation Malaysian Grand Prix Dinner event is traditionally attended by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Raja Permaisuri Agong and the Prime Minister as well as Malaysian and international celebrities.

The evening will start off with a cocktail reception where guests will have the opportunity to mingle with F1 drivers.

Last year, international celebrities such as Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, Josh Hartnett and Teri Hatcher attended the dinner.

Past years’ performers included Lionel Richie, JT Taylor from Kool & The Gang as well as Datuk Siti Nurhaliza.

The gala event is a tradition since the race was first held here in 1999.
