More cases of vehicle theft although overall crime index has decreased, says top cop

KUCHING: Cases of vehicle theft have been on the rise in the city although the overall crime index has decreased.

State police commissioner DCP Datuk Wira Mohammad Sabtu Osman said 1,388 cases of stolen motorcycles had been reported in the Kuching police district so far this year, up 29.7% from 1,070 cases last year.
