KUANTAN: Some 220 school children visiting the Penor prison were transfixed when a former death row inmate was brought out to tell the story of his fall from grace.

Ahmad (not his real name), 56, sat in the “last room” for more than a year awaiting his execution when through an appeal, he escaped the gallows.
