JOHOR BARU: The state government has picked 56 state youth associations to organise the annual Merdeka countdown celebrations here in the city centre.
Johor Tourism, Domestic Trade and Consumerism Committee chairman Datuk Tee Siew Kiong said the state government decided to hand the task over to the youngsters to foster better relationships and understanding in the multiracial community.
