96-year-old releases second album in tribute to late wife while fighting cancer

THOUGH told as a child that he lacked an aptitude for music, Ajit Kumar Joardar never let the pronouncement stand in his way and proved his childhood music teacher wrong by releasing an album at the grand age of 96.

Ajit’s second effort, Yaadon Ka Guldasta (Bouquet of Memories), a compilation of five Hindi songs dedicated to his late wife, Umarani, has earned the nonagenarian his second entry into the Malaysia Book of Records as the oldest person to compose and produce a music album in the country.
