Fragrant rice dish steals the show

By Zieman

(Clockwise, from top left) The nasi dalcha is cooked with chunks of mutton ribs, flavourful spices and lots of ginger and shallots; Kerabu Glass Noodles with Sotong; the Vietnamese Spring Roll is a good appetizer.

THE nasi dalcha, which is as popular as nasi kandar in Penang, is taking centre stage at the “Citarasa Ramadan” buffet.

This mildly flavoured rice, which originated from northern India, is best eaten with side dishes such as fried chicken, ayam ros, mutton curry, stuffed squid or prawn and a special dhal curry.
