BOOKDOC has come on board as a Silver sponsor for this year’s Penang Starwalk.

The medical, fitness and wellness application by Health4U Solutions Sdn Bhd is sponsoring RM15,000 in cash and RM10,000 worth of wearable fitness gadgets.

This is in line with the app’s objective to promote a healthy lifestyle said BookDoc founder Datuk Chevy Beh.

“Penang Starwalk allows us to introduce BookDoc Activ, the latest programme within the BookDoc app, to health enthusiasts as it rewards them for exercising.

“The more a user walks, the more rewards he will get. This encourages and motivates people to work out more and lead a healthy life,” he explained, adding that he is a professional polo player who advocates healthy living.

Upon reaching different reward tiers based on their activity level, app users will be rewarded with discounts and privileges from participating merchants across various categories including food and beverages, fashion, wellness products and fitness centres.

To connect, one can sync the app to a compatible fitness device, fitness application or smartphone.

Beh added that the application started out as a platform to connect healthcare providers with patients, providing users a seamless experience to healthcare appointments.

“Collaborating with notable partners, it has integrated features such as navigation, transport, accommodation booking services, as well as recommended restaurants and attractions so users will have easy access to information at their fingertips,” he said.

The app also caters to medical tourism, whereby patients can search from a list of healthcare professionals in the app.

Aside from Malaysia, the app is available in Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand.

BookDoc can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play.

The 7km non-competitive Penang Starwalk 2017 will be flagged off from Gurney Paragon Mall at 7am on Sept 10. Registration for the event is closed.

The event is jointly organised by Star Media Group and the Penang Amateur Athletic Association.

The Platinum sponsors for the walk are YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YES) and Naza Kia Malaysia Sdn Bhd, while the Silver sponsors are Eastern & Oriental Bhd, F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd, Federal Oats Mills Sdn Bhd, Health4U Solutions Sdn Bhd, Mula Car International Sdn Bhd and Perfect Food Manufacturing (M) Sdn Bhd.

Venue sponsor is Gurney Paragon Mall.
