Collapsed drains causing bigger problems

(Above) Broken drains along Jalan Welfare in Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh. During a recent downpour, part of the road was flooded (left), forcing residents to wait before they could access their homes.

A 700M stretch of Jalan Welfare in Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh is a disaster waiting to happen as the drains on the side of the road have collapsed and the soil under the road is being eroded.

The restricted water flow in the collapsed drains, which are connected to the main drain out of a nearby commercial area, has also led to flash floods during downpours.
