More families rescued from poverty

KUCHING: Sarawak’s effort to help poor families through various government aid programmes, including 1Azam programme, has seen some 41,000 households rise above the poverty line this year.

Welfare, Women and Community Wellbeing Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah lauded the figure, which translated into 36.6% out of 114,259 poor households that were registered with e-Kasih.
