I HAD never been on a mountain hike before but I was not about to admit that to my colleague Natasha when she asked if I would like to join a 2D/1N expedition up Mount Trusmadi, in Sabah.

Officially known as Nuluhon Trusmadi, nuluhon being the Dusun word for mountain, it is Malaysia’s second highest mountain after Mt Kinabalu at 2,604m above sea-level.
