Safety lacking in river transport

MIRI: As the festive rush begins for tens of thousands of Dayaks to get home in time for the Gawai Dayak celebrations, concerns are being raised about the safety aspects of river transportation in interior Sarawak.

It is still clear for all to see that in many rural outposts, the expressboats, speedboats and longboats are still lacking in safety equipment.
