Having fun with fundraising

THE Agathians Shelter in Petaling Jaya is running fundraising events to provide for the children’s basic needs and education.

Recently, Shopee Malaysia sponsored a charity drive for the shelter, which is home to 40 boys from ages four to 21 from various backgrounds.

The event, which included an arts and crafts fair and badminton session, was held to ease the burden of the shelter’s council member and head Inthira Nunion, by providing food and other necessities for the children.

She said the shelter was founded in 2003 and was part of the Welfare Department and the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

The shelter also caters to disabled, abandoned, neglected and abused children.
