THE expected arrival of 1.5 mil Bangladeshis into the country is making some Penangites uneasy. They fear the proliferation of eateries and sundry shops operated by foreigners.

Shops operated by nationals from Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar can already be found in several parts of the state including in Komtar, Jalan Gurdwara and Kompleks Bukit Jambul on Penang island and in Bukit Mertajam on the mainland.
