A RECOLLECTION of vivid childhood memories, scribbling on the walls of a traditional Malay wooden house, brought unexpected success to a 21-year-old fine art student who bagged the Grand Award at the 2015 Petronas Art Competition organised by Galeri Petronas.
Muhammad Syahmi Jamaluddin’s winning entry, an acrylic painting on wood titled Future in Survive, shows an image of the Petronas Twin Towers placed next to a power station and a portrait of a toddler, representing a child’s hope for a better future.
