IT WAS a personal link to his father and the childhood memories that inspired Venezuelan jazz trumpeter Michael Simon to record his version of Getaran Jiwa for his latest album.
“Getaran Jiwa reminds me of the Latin ballads, also known as bolero, that my father sang during my growing-up years,” said the 40-year-old after a preview of his album Destiny’s Will at the opening of the 10th Venezuelan Week in Malaysia at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex.
