Japan is a hilly country, full of steep slopes and flights of stairs (left). Elderly Japanese sometimes use two walking sticks to help them keep their balance.
MY husband once said that I had not walked enough in Malaysia because my car had replaced my feet. True. It was only after coming to Japan that I began to walk a lot.
But with age and after years of hiking up slopes in Japan, I am suffer from painful knee joints. So, no thanks to any hiking trip.
