This traditional snack is still a favourite after centuries.

The stroopwafel, or Dutch syrup waffle, is a traditional daily treat in the Netherlands and is mostly eaten with their morning coffee or tea. This type of cookie has been around for centuries and originated in the western city of Gouda, also famous for its cheese and smoking pipes.
