Sunway Medical Centre former COO joins TMC Life Sciences

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Sunway Medical Centre chief operating officer Wan Nadiah Wan Mohd Abdullah Yaakob (pic) has joined healthcare group TMC Life Sciences Bhd, taking on the newly created post of group chief corporate officer (GCCO) effective Monday.

She will also become chief executive officer of its unit Tropicana Medical Centre (M) Sdn Bhd on June 30.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, TMC Life Sciences said Wan Nadiah was an associate consultant at the Boston Consulting Group before joining Sunway in 2009 in a strategy and corporate development role.

She holds a bachelor of arts (cum laude) degree in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University and a master of science degree in Public Health from the University of London.

In the role of GCCO, Wan Nadiah will not only be looking after corporate matters as such human resources, marketing and communications, but will also be assisting TMC Life Sciences group CEO and executive director Roy Quek in driving strategic planning.

Quek said in a press statement that Wan Nadiah joined TMC Life Sciences as it was entering “an exciting period of expansion and growth.”

“Even as we develop our infrastructure and expand our physical capacity to meet growing demand for our healthcare services, we are looking to bring in the best talent in the industry as well.

“Aside from the best doctors, we want the best strategists and administrators as well. Wan Nadiah fits this description - she is young, bright and energetic, and brings with her valuable experience from her consulting and healthcare background,” he said.
