Trading ideas: MISC, Stone Master, HIL, AMMB, RHB Bank

KUALA LUMPUR: MISC, Stone Master, HIL and Wintoni are among the stocks to watch on Monday after their corporate announcements last Friday, says JF Apex Research.

MISC announced that Sabah Shell Petroleum Co Ltd had filed a counterclaim of RM2.5bil against MISC's subsidiary.

As for Stone Master, which is embroiled in a boardroom battle,  saw the company obtaining an injunction against its biggest shareholder.

JF Apex Research said HIL Industries had proposed a bonus issue with free detachable warrants.

As for Wintoni, Chong Seng Foo withdrew his nomination to be a director.

AMMB and RHB Bank could also see trading interest after the seling pressure last Friday following the announcement of the proposed merger which did not go down well with investors.

Last Friday, JF Apex Research said US markets rallied to record highs on Friday despite employment data missing estimates.

Similarly, European stocks advanced despite lower oil price and US pulling out from the Paris climate change agreement.

At Bursa, the FBM KLCI rallied 13.84 points to 1,776.95.

“Following the bullish performance, the KLCI could extend its recent surge towards the resistance of 1,785,” it said.
