Corporate earnings to recover this year

AFTER three consecutive years of subdued corporate earnings, local public-listed companies are expected to get back on the growth path this year, albeit helped by a low-base effect.

A low-base effect is where a small absolute change gets reflected as a big percentage change due to low comparative figures.
