Sime Darby Property unveils RM8bil Alya KL

RM8bil GDV: Sime Darby Property Bhd MD Datuk Jauhari Hamidi introduces Alya, formerly KLGCC Resort. Alya will be a 360-acre development with the golf course taking up the bulk of the land. About 61 acres of the 360 acres will be for development. Four-acre Senada will be the first of 61-acre development

Kuala Lumpur: Sime Darby Property has launched the Alya Kuala Lumpur with a gross development value (GDV) of RM8bil.

Alya KL, sprawled across 360 acres, is located in the vicinity of the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club Resort (KLGCC Resort) that will comprise residential (bungalows, condominiums, town houses and serviced apartments), commercial, retail and hospitality components with over eight development parcels.

“With the launch of this refreshed brand identity, we seek to create a new global model of Malaysian luxury lifestyle brand that can be replicated worldwide,” said managing director Datuk Jauhari Hamidi.

Alya Kuala Lumpur is adjacent to the 245-acre Bukit Kiara public park and surrounded by KL’s most affluent western suburbs within a 15 km radius.

These suburbs are complemented with international schools, specialist centres, retail malls, food and beverage outlets as well as commercial and healthcare centres.

At a briefing, Jauhari said he was mindful of the sentiment of the property market at the moment but was confident that demand was still good.

“We are trying to differentiate our development by looking at the surrounding area and current properties,” he said.

He also said that KLGCC Resort would be rebranded sometime this week to be synonymous with a prestigious golf club with real estate development around it.
