Microlink appoints new CEO


KUALA LUMPUR: Microlink Solutions Bhd has appointed Chia Yong Wei its chief executive officer effective April 1.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday, the information technology solutions provider said Chia, 39, would succeed Peter Yong Kar Seng, 51, who is retiring.

Chia held several roles within the Omesti and Microlink groups.

“He is group chief technology officer of Omesti Group and chief operating officer of Omesti Innovation Lab, the technology and applications development arm of the Microlink Group,” said the Microlink.

“His responsibility is to actively stitch together innovative and feasible technologies to provide practical solutions that enable clients and enterprise-wide users to deploy technology to grow and drive their businesses.” 

Chia is also chief executive officer and country manager of CA IT Infrastructure Solutions, a subsidiary of Microlink and the partner of CA Technologies in Malaysia.

Omesti Bhd, through subsidiary Omesti Holdings, has a 62.74% stake in Microlink.
