IBM Watson app identifies trending toys and gadgets for gift-giving season

Never gift a dud again: The IBM Watson iOS app claims to be able to identify trending toys and gadgets to help you give the perfect gift this holiday season.

A new app claims to be able to help take the guesswork – and the grunt work – out of Christmas shopping this season by identifying the top trending toys, gizmos and gadgets. 

The iOS app IBM Watson works by analysing millions of reviews, blogs and social media conversations on sites like Twitter to curate lists of the top trending products in gift categories such as toys, electronics, health and fitness. 

 

Every day, the app provides daily feeds on which products are trending and why as it claims to be able to "understand natural language," and interpret the tone of reviews. 

Suggestions may include everything from the PlayStation 4, Sony cameras and Star Wars Legos. — AFP Relaxnews
