Suzuki Cup: Police to deploy 3,000 cops for KL final


Police apprehend a fan during the Suzuki Cup semi-final match between Malaysia and Vietnam at Shah Alam Stadium which was marred by crowd trouble last week.

KUALA LUMPUR: The FA of Malaysia (FAM) have assured Thailand fans that they have no reason to fear a trip to the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil for Saturday’s return leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup final.

FAM competitions committee deputy chairman Datuk Osman Salleh said a 3,000-strong police personnel would be deployed to ensure the fans’ safety during the Malaysia-Thailand showdown.
