A gloomy day for junior track cyclists at world meet in Astana


Reigning Asian junior champion in 1km time trial Fadhil could only finish 12th at the world meet in Astana.

PETALING JAYA: Reigning Asian junior champion Mohd Fadhil Mohd Zonis failed to follow in the footsteps of his elder brother Mohd Firdaus after he finished 12th in the 1km time trial in the Track World Junior Cycling Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The 17-year-old posted 1:05.150 as the top Asian finisher where his elder brother Firdaus won a historic bronze in last year’s edition in South Korea with a time of 1:04.161.
