KUALA LUMPUR: The Perak Open will now have a special place in shuttler Soong Joo Ven’s heart.

The 20-year-old stunned defending champion Liew Daren 20-22, 21-13, 21-9 in the men singles quarter-finals in Ipoh on Tuesday to mark his first breakthrough victory in his senior career.
