Two golds assured for Malaysia in badminton

SINGAPORE: Malaysia are guaranteed two gold medals in badminton through men's singles and women's doubles.

Chong Wei Feng and Mohd Arif Abdul Latif won their semi-final matches to set up an all-Malaysian final; after the women’s pair of Vivian Hoo-Woon Khe Wei and Amelia Alicia Anscelly-Soong Fie Cho had checked into the doubles final on Monday.

Malaysia could add an extra gold medal through the mixed pair of Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying who made the final after beating their Indonesian opponents in the semi-finals.

15-year-old Goh Jin Wei’s (pic, above) debut run at the Games ended in the semi-finals when she lost to Hana Ramadhini of Indonesia in three sets.
