Ukraine's Poroshenko will make statement shortly - presidential spokesman

KIEV (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is scheduled to make a televised statement shortly, a presidential spokesman said by telephone on Wednesday.

Poroshenko was expected to speak about the crisis around the railway junction of Debaltseve, which is under siege from Russian-backed rebels who have fought their way into the town.
