Malaysian charged with stabbing landlord in Singapore

SINGAPORE: A woman was charged in court on Monday (Nov 23) with causing hurt to her 76-year-old landlord with a dangerous weapon at a Yishun flat last Saturday night.

Malaysian Woo Mui Mee, 34, allegedly stabbed William Wong Keng Woo inside the three-room unit on the second floor of Block 114, Yishun Ring Road.

Woo is accused of using a paper cutter to inflict injuries on Wong's left forehand.

Clad in a red T-shirt and dark blue bermudas, Woo arrived at the State Courts in a police car at around 9am.

She had been remanded for investigation.

The prosecution told the court that it is very likely the charge may be upgraded.

Police said they received a call at about 10pm that day, and found Wong lying motionless in his home.

He was pronounced dead at about 11.40pm. Neighbours had heard a commotion lasting about 15 minutes at about 8pm.

If convicted, Woo faces a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.
