Girl brought to scene of crime

TAPAH: A young girl (pic) was brought to the scene of the workshop where a family of four were arrested for a string of gruesome murders.

The girl, accompanied by police officers, came to the scene at about 3pm yesterday as policemen and a forensic team were combing the area for more evidence.

State deputy crime chief Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat said the girl was merely a witness.

He denied that the police had arrested more people, including the two daughters of the main suspect.

“The number of those arrested remains at four. It is also untrue that the suspect’s daughter tipped off police,” he added.

ACP Fadzil refused to say more on the four murder victims, saying that the DNA tests were not ready.

On Monday, state deputy police chief Deputy Comm Hasnan Hassan said the murders were the result of a failed land deal and debts.

One of victims was believed to be a worker at the workshop and was said to have stolen vehicle parts from there. The other three victims were a land broker, a vehicle spare parts salesman and a bus company operator.
