PUTRAJAYA: The arrests of Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan and his lawyer Matthias Chang have been condemned by several Barisan Nasional veterans, led by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
In a joint statement, Dr Mahathir and six former Cabinet members said the arrests were an abuse of the Special Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma) 2012, which was meant to curb terrorism.
