Tony Pua posts document allegedly showing Lester Melanyi is bankrupt

PETALING JAYA: Tony Pua has posted a document on his Facebook page, purportedly showing that Lester Melanyi is a bankrupt.

Pua uploaded the document, allegedly of a bankruptcy search from the Kuching Malaysian Insolvency Department.

The document supposedly states that Lester was declared bankrupt in June 2012.

Lester, who claimed forged documents were used in Sarawak Report articles on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), earlier implicated that the Petaling Jaya MP was one of the Opposition politicians involved in an alleged plot to tarnish the image of the Malaysian Government and topple Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Lester alleged that almost 90% of the content in a Sarawak Report article on 1MDB had been tampered with.

Lester also claimed to having met Swiss national Xavier Andre Justo, a former executive of PetroSaudi International, who allegedly handed over 10% of the documents related to 1MDB to Sarawak Report founder Clare Rewcastle-Brown.

Pua said that his lawyers have initiated legal proceedings against Lester, a former Sarawak Tribune editor.
