Industrial Court faces serious backlog

PETALING JAYA: A serious backlog of cases is building up at the Industrial Courts in Penang and Kuala Lumpur after the contracts of four senior Industrial Court chairmen were not renewed.

This is not the first time the court has been left vacant but the problem is more acute because the contracts of all four expired around the same time in August, said Bar Council Industrial Law Committee (ILC) chairman Anand Ponnudurai.
