Don’t go too far or we will fight back, PAS Youth warns allies

KOTA TINGGI: PAS Youth has warned its PKR and DAP counterparts that it will no longer be courteous in its reactions if they continue to berate the party leadership.

“If our gentlemanly conduct is not appreciated, we too will openly criticise them and their leaders,” its chief Suhaizan Kayat said in his closing speech at the PAS Youth gathering yesterday.

He cited the recent outburst of PKR Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad against PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, saying that he had to personally intervene to prevent further disparaging statements from being made.

“I called him several times and told him to stop as it was damaging to PAS and Pakatan,” he added.

Suhaizan urged members not to air their grouses openly via social media but to use proper party channels.

He also denied that PAS Youth was against Hadi and the Syura Ulama Council.

“We have different ways of approaching an issue and dance to a different step,” Suhaizan said. “However, we still managed to bring our views to the president and the council.”

He added that the wing was saddened by criticisms against Hadi and the council, especially over the Selangor Mentri Besar issue.

On the heated debate during the gathering, Suhaizan said he welcomed the exchange of views.

“It is normal for youth delegates to express themselves freely at such a gathering as it was an apt occasion to voice their dissatisfaction,” said Suhaizan.
