PETALING JAYA: India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj conveyed her condolences to Malaysia over the MH17 tragedy, which claimed the lives of everyone on board.
"She conveyed her deep sense of loss and grief on this tragic incident. Her thoughts and prayers are with the family members of passengers and crew on board the Malaysia Airlines flight," the Indian High Commission here said in a statement Saturday.
Swaraj had personally written to Foreign Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman to convey that India would stand by the people and government of Malaysia in this difficult time.
"India stands by Malaysia and other countries whose nationals were on board. Their concerns will receive her closest attention."
Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed in Ukraine on Thursday night, killing all 298 passengers and crew on board.
