Limkokwing varsity more 'liked' than Cambridge

PETALING JAYA: Limkokwing University of Creative Technology has been on Facebook for the past seven years and is one of the most-liked sites there.

In a ranking called “Where are the most popular universities on Facebook?”, the university is in the top 10 list among international institutions as acknowledged by Inside Facebook.

Inside Facebook is described as source of news and analysis on Facebook’s global growth, corporate developments, and product innovations.

Limkokwing University of Creative Technology artistic director Datuk Tiffanee Marie Lim said Malaysians should be proud of the success of a home-grown private higher education institution.

“This is something the university is very proud of,” she said.

According to the ranking, Lim said the university had received over 802,000 “likes” on Facebook; beating more established institutions such as the University of Cambridge in Britain which ranked 12th.

“In fact, we do not only rank among the top 10 but we are also the fastest rising in terms of ‘likes’,” she said.

The ranking was discovered by Limkokwing University of Creative Technology systems integration vice-president Datuk Timothy Lim when he chanced upon it on a website that measures Facebook page metrics.
