KUALA LUMPUR: Local Nissan distributor Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd has launched the new Teana sedan which comes with a host of safety and comfort features.

Assembled at the company’s Serendah plant in Selangor, the third-generation Teana is offered in three variants priced at RM139,800 (2.0XE), RM149,800 (2.0XL) and RM169,900 (2.5XV) on-the-road with insurance.

All variants come with a three-year or 100,000km warranty.

Available colours are Tungsten Silver, Diamond Black, Bronze Gold and Brilliant White, and a new shade of Storm Blue.

The Teana 2.5XV comes with a sunroof, a Bose premium audio system with nine speakers, as well as xenon headlights with auto-levelling and washers.

Based on Nissan’s internal test data, the new 2.0-litre Teana can deliver fuel economy of 13.5km per litre while the 2.5-litre Teana can achieve up to 13.3km per litre.

The new Teana also offers black leather seats with a “Zero-Gravity Inspired” design that Nissan says will help to reduce muscular and spinal loads, and improve blood flow.

This seat design is also billed as reducing fatigue, especially during long-distance trips.

Its roomy cabin offers best-in-class interior space.

The new Teana also has dual-zone automatic climate control air-conditioning with rear vents, an Intelligent Key (keyless entry), an engine push-start ignition button, and speed-sensitive variable intermittent wipers.

It is equipped with six SRS airbags, VDC (vehicle dynamic control) and TCS (traction control system), as well as AUC (active understeer control), ABS (anti-locking braking system), EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution), BA (brake assist) and HSA (hill start assist).

Other safety features include a LED high-mounted rear stop lamp, ISOFIX child seat points, front seat belts with load limiters and pre-tensioners, and three-point ELR (emergency locking restraint).
