Special cover and stamp to mark M’sia-China ties

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia is issuing a special commemorative cover and stamp for the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Malaysia and China.

The cover features Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and China’s President Xi Jinping shaking hands during the latter’s visit to Malaysia earlier this year. The stamp shows iconic buildings in both countries.

“Though the covers will only be sold to the public starting June 2, the date is marked May 31 because that was the exact date 40 years ago that the late Tun Razak Hussein signed the agreement in China,” said PosNiaga chief operating officer Bahaman Kamaruzzaman at a press conference here yesterday.

He said this was the third time Pos Malaysia was issuing commemorative covers on the anniversary of China-Malaysia diplomatic ties.

The last two were on the 30th and 35th anniversaries.

Limited to 35,000 copies, the cover will be sold at RM1.90 at the 704 Pos Malaysia outlets nationwide. Also sold with the cover are 2,000 limited edition folders that cost RM6.
